3) How long can my movie be to fit on a DVD?
Return to
top
To make a DVD from a videotape, we require that the tapes be no
longer than two hours in duration. The reason for this is a quality
issue. The longer a movie is, the poorer the quality must be in order
for it to fit on the DVD. With this in mind, the two hour cap has
been set as the limit to ensure the quality remains high. To discuss a
transfer of a movie longer than two hours, please
contact us to suggest
possible alternatives such as splitting the movie on two disks or
sacrificing some quality of the movie.
You also are limited to no more than 2000 feet of film per order.
4) What is the Standard DVD Package?
Return to
top
The Standard DVD is the quickest and simplest way to transfer your
home movie. We plainly take your existing movie and put it on DVD
without any menus or flare. It behaves exactly like a VCR with the
exception of chapter points. The chapter points will be
available despite the lack of a menu by clicking the "next" button
on your DVD remote. Furthermore, DVD technology enables you to skip to
any time you wish just by entering it on your DVD remote. Your
memories will look great for countless years to come without losing video quality and you'll
never have to worry about rewinding your movies again.
Your Standard DVD will come in the
Standard DVD casing.
Please note that the video quality remains the same with Standard and
Enhanced DVD Packages. For more details and information about this
package, refer to our services page.
5) What is the Enhanced DVD Package?
Return to

The Enhanced DVD package provides a very personal element to your
DVD movie. It includes a navigational menu complete with chapter point
names and small images beside each chapter name which gives you a
visual representation of the chapter. Upon inserting your Enhanced
DVD into your DVD player, fitting music will greet you. The themes
available on this site will give you an accurate sample of how your
DVD menu will look. To browse
the theme menus and casing, click the themes from the list below.

You may also note that once you've made a chapter
selection from the DVD menu, pressing the "next" button on the DVD
remote will instantly take you to the next chapter without having to
return to the DVD menu. Furthermore, rewinding your movies will
never again be a concern.
Please note that the video quality remains the same with Standard
and Enhanced DVD Packages. For more details and information about this
package, refer to our services page.
6) What does "DVD Title" mean?
Return to
top
The DVD title will be the title of your movie. It will appear
everywhere the phrase "DVD Title Here" is stated on either the
Standard or Enhanced DVD themes.
7) What are "chapter points"?
Return to
top
Chapter points are like bookmarks in your movie. They act as a fast
way to access your favourite scenes with a click of a button.
Since the Standard DVD package does not use a menu, there is no need
to name the chapter points like in the Enhanced DVD. The Standard DVD
will play normally like a VCR and when you wish to advance to a particular
chapter point, you would use the "next" button on your remote or the
search feature with your DVD player to navigate through the chapter
points.
With an Enhanced DVD, you have a chance to name the chapters as
they will appear in a menu. Naming chapters and selecting them from a
menu is your way of
accessing specific scenes more quickly than with the
Standard DVD. Since chapter 1 is automatically the very beginning of
your movie, we use the default "Start Movie" as the chapter 1 name.
Examples of naming successive chapter points may be
something like: "Fishing boat" followed by "Caught a
Fish!" The name of the chapters you specify in the order form will
appear where ever the phrases "1) Chapter 1 Title", "2) Chapter 2
Title", etc., are shown in the Enhanced DVD themes. We'll also
include an image associated to each chapter point next to the name of
the chapter. There will be three chapters per menu and an index of all your chapter points can be found at the
bottom of the screen which you'll be able to select. To view an example of this entire process, take a look at our Tropical Sunset
theme.
8) What do "titles" mean for film orders?
Return to
top
Titles offer a sense of separation between film scenes.
For all times you specify on the order form, we will add the
desired title. The title will be displayed with white text on a black
background for approximately five seconds. This is always optional.
9) What does "add music" mean for film
orders?
Return to
top
Film can be more enjoyable if music was added. We offer
this service at a fixed price of $25. We will provide the music for
you. The music we select is well suited for this purpose and we feel
you'll enjoy it.
10) What DVD casing options are available?
Return to
top
Depending on which package you are interested in, the DVD casing
will vary. Your DVD will come in a typical CD case. You will see
"Front Casing", "Back Casing", and "Disk Cover" at the top of each
theme. Click the themes below to see the available casing.

11) How long does it take before I receive my finished DVD?
Return to
top
Once your movie is received by us, please allow one to two weeks
for transferring and return shipping. Together, your original movie plus your
newly transferred DVD movie will be shipped back by surface mail.
12) Can I put multiple tapes on one DVD?
Return to
top
We currently do not accommodate multiple tapes for our clients. If you
have two or more tapes with a combined length of two hours or less, each
tape will have to treated as a separate order. We expect to
offer tape merging onto one DVD in the future.
